Hmong American Farmers Association
The Hmong American Farmers Association (HAFA) supports Hmong farmers and advances community-based food systems through education, advocacy, land access, and market opportunities. Through strategic communications support, I help amplify farmer voices, strengthen audience engagement, and communicate the organization's impact across multiple platforms.

challenge
HAFA was doing important work to support Hmong farmers and connect communities with locally grown food, but its communications efforts were spread across multiple channels and campaigns. The organization needed a more streamlined, consistent approach to storytelling, audience engagement, and promotion of key programs such as CSA enrollment and fundraising initiatives.
strategy
I partnered with HAFA to create a more cohesive communications approach across social media, email marketing, website content, and storytelling initiatives. Together, we developed systems to share farmers' stories, promote seasonal campaigns, highlight community impact, and strengthen connections with supporters.
organizational outcomeS
Increased visibility for HAFA's mission and programs
More consistent communication with CSA members and supporters
Stronger storytelling around farmer experiences and community impact
Improved capacity to promote key campaigns and fundraising initiatives
Greater engagement across digital channels
SUPPORTING RESULTS
66% increase in social media followers
173,000+ impressions
Increased website traffic
Increased audience engagement
WHAT THIS WORK MADE POSSIBLE
By creating more consistent communications systems and stronger storytelling practices, HAFA was better positioned to promote CSA programs, engage supporters, highlight farmer experiences, and strengthen awareness of its mission throughout the community.
