Hmong American Farmers Association
My work with the Hmong American Farmers Association has allowed me to support a mission-driven organization rooted in community, sustainability, and cultural pride. As HAFA’s communications lead, I’ve had the opportunity to shape the organization’s voice, strengthen engagement across diverse stakeholders, and build a strategic storytelling approach highlighting Hmong American farmers' resilience and impact.

Setup & context
I was brought on to manage community engagement and lead communications efforts. My role spans internal and external messaging, ensuring alignment across staff, board members, partners, and the broader community.
The challenge & problem PROCESS
HAFA needed to unify its voice across platforms while honoring its members' unique cultural context. I work closely with leadership and contractors to implement a cohesive branding and messaging strategy. I also amplify farmer voices and share HAFA’s impact in ways that resonate with diverse audiences.
impact & results
By overseeing content creation for social media, newsletters, and organizational collateral, I've helped drive consistent engagement across channels, including a 16.7% engagement increase on Instagram. We implemented a performance tracking system using Metricool and MailChimp, allowing us to optimize outreach. I also present regular strategy updates to HAFA’s Board of Directors, aligning our communications with strategic goals and deepening community connections.
